hello baby!

(Emily on her second day, all photos in post by Uncle Richard)

Meet our little bundle of joy, Emily! She was born January 23rd of this year at the coolest hospital ever! (See photos below)

So here's the scoop on what I've been up to these past months...

My husband and I purchased our first home in November. We moved into our new home in December. And in January I gave birth to our first baby. Oh yeah, I illustrated a children's book during this time as well. More details on that later when it becomes available.

So for the past couple of months my time has been devoted to our little one. For anyone who has taken care of a newborn, you can understand why my blog is missing posts!

It's been a great year so far, and I'm totally enjoying my new role as a mom. I've taken a bit of a break but I look forward to posting again. This has been a very exciting and inspiring time in my life, and I anticipate more great things to come.

Eren, as much as I'm thrilled about your newly formed fabulous family, be honest, did you purposefully drive around America searching for the Blair hospital to deliver the baby in? Is that why Wayne missed a week's of work? Driving you around until you found it? That's fandom, old friend. FANDOM.
By the way, Uncle Richard. My new favorite comic phrase. I don't know why, but I find it hysterical and I love it.
By the way-way, I can't wait to finally meet this infamous daughter of yours! Little Jack Jack will be out here Comic Con week this year--maybe we can hook up a play date San Diego Way!

How ironic that you delivered in a hospital with Mary Blair artwork on the walls, it must have been kismet! Congratulations on becoming a parent. It is one of the most rewarding jobs (I think anyway). Can't wait to see what book you have coming out. I think your work is amazing.

Big heart-felt congrats on your baby! I know just how it feels. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

If I were a lesser man, I'd be at that Blair painting with a crowbar and it'd be hanging in my living room now. ;)
