illustration friday: empty

Here's my entry for Illustration Friday. The topic is empty. I had a hard time thinking of something. At first I was going to draw a kid eating all the cookies from a cookie jar leaving it empty. I draw (no pun intended) from my own experiences sometimes.

I wanted to do someting a little different though....a different pov. So I decided to draw a girl looking into an empty cracker box. I don't know if that comes across though. I also decided to leave the original sketch in the painting. I usually don't leave the drawing but I thought it looked kind of cool even if it isn't in perspective.

pencil lines are real, color is digital

Looks great! I like the balance of a warm outside, and a cool dark EMPTY inside....

You worry too much Eren--is there anyone who COULDN'T immediately realize that this is a cracker box? Tsh, it couldn't be anymore obvious! I really like this because it's very innocent, yet also very dark. And I love that you left the sketch lines in--it shows that you're dangerous with nothing to lose!

I love the BIG eyes peering into the void! The sketch lines add a nice texture, actually...it's good you left them in. I checked out your other posts as well. You have some really nice work here. I like the cafe sketches. That's really one of my favorite things about going out for coffee-the people watching. I'm too timid to sketch, though, so I really admire what you did.
