illustration friday: tea

Ok it's time to start this month off right! Ahem....Blanquet's Blog is proud to present "Tea" for Illustration Friday!

It was hard to do this illustration without thinking about the work Mary Blair did for Alice in Wonderland. But I actually got most of my inspiration from my niece who loves to play tea party. I've been spending a lot of time with my family lately and they really are so inspirational. Hooray for family inspiration!

This has been a presentation of Blanquet's Blog Productions. Hope you enjoy the illo.

This is adorable. I feel like I'm peeking through a ncrack in the door:> I like the way the grownup is obviously sitting a a child's table...they both look like they're having a splendid time. Great job:>

so great! if you don't mind, I'm curious to how you work... do you start in painter, or photoshop? It's really a quite wonderful style.

Thanks so much Estherc, Kaya, Osgood, Carla, Artsy Momma Chic, Alina, Jules, Amy, Rachel, Brian, Justin, Wynlen, and Martin for your wonderful comments!

Jonesy - Painter is very cool! Lots of fun tools to work with. Thanks so much for stopping by...I totally dig your blog!

Steve - Thanks so much for the comment! I really like your blog too!

Amy - I start off with a sketch and scan it into Photoshop. I then take it into Painter and color it there. I use Photoshop pretty much just to edit things. Painter is pretty cool because you can save your work as a Photoshop file which makes it easy to go back and forth. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!

Smook - Glad this makes you happy! Your comment makes me want peppermint tea and honey!

Eren
